This section of the website explains in more detail the different services available to people within the NHS.
The services available to you are as follows, text to text translation, text to speech translation (voiceovers), publication and leaflet design, websites, braille, easyRead and large print documents, cultural understanding and DVD/Video production.
Each are addressed in turn.

This is the translation of a document from one language to another.
Documentation for translation can include patient records, leaflets,
emails, handwritten information and hospital signs. These documents
can be supplied in any format such as Word, hard copy, pdf etc.
All NHS translators are professional medical translators, only ever working
into their native tongue. All are qualified to masters degree level (or
equivalent) and CTC or CRB cleared where necessary.
Translation projects will be managed at K International’s head office in Milton Keynes. All documentation will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence, encrypting the files on receipt and transmitting them through our global translation network.

Enabling you to communicate with groups who prefer audio documentation, such
as the visually impaired and the illiterate. English and translated text can be
recorded in K International’s in-house recording studio.
Audio files of the translation can be supplied in formats such as CD or tape,
as well as MP3 and WAV files, ready for inclusion in your audio-visual projects.

Publications and information leaflets can be designed and translated to
target specific ethnic groups. The information is translated and
professionally typeset by our in-house multilingual artwork studio.
The artwork can either be supplied by you or designed by K International’s designers.
This service is being used to great effect by the National Eye Screening
Programme to produce brochures for their retinopathy detection campaign.
The purpose being to educate all ethnic groups in the country about the
consequences of neglecting diabetes related eye screening.

To ensure information is widely available, K International are able to
produce any translation, publication, or leaflet in a format used on websites.
Additionally, K International are able to translate and localise entire websites into any language.
All documentation such as letters, leaflets and posters can be converted into Braille or Large Print format to assist groups such as the visually impaired.
EasyRead is the simplification of text to ensure it is understood by all
members of a given community, regardless of their age, education or professional background.
EasyRead documents include pictures, larger text and shorter sentence
structure, and can be produced in any language.
This service provides feedback from minority groups with regards to the cultural sensitivity of a document. Translations are reviewed by people representing the targeted audience and highlight any issues that might arise due to cultural differences.
For information to be conveyed in an audio visual format, DVDs/Videos of the subject in question can be produced and translated. This may take the form of welcome videos, information displayed in A&E, patient information videos, staff training videos, or anything else that is required in this format.
